ABSTRACT

RULES FOR HEPATOLOGY & GASTROENTEROLOGY AWARD PAPERS

  1. The work should have been done in India in the previous 3 years. All paper and poster presenters should register for the conference. Accommodation will be provided for PG students selected for stage presentation, while all others who submit papers will be eligible for subsidized accommodation.
  2. All papers that are not chosen for presentation on stage shall be put up as a poster and will be evaluated for prizes.
  3. The study should have received clearance from the research and ethics committee of the institution, if it is a prospective study.
  4. The study should not have been published in any journal already. It should not have been presented for an award at a previous Pediatric Gastro conference or won an award at an IAP or ISG National conference.
  5. Paper in the format of the abstract of Research papers in Indian Pediatrics should be submitted on or before 15 July 2020 to abstract.ispghan2020@gmail.com clearly mentioning the category of award applied for.   6. 2 judges will independently evaluate the papers. A maximum of 6 papers which score the highest marks will be selected for stage presentation
  7. The presentation will be for 7 minutes, followed by 3 minutes for questions, which are to be answered only by the presenter. There will be two separate judges who alone are allowed to ask questions. The sum of the written (25) and oral presentation ((25) will decide the winner.
  8. The break up of the marks shall be as follows
  9. Written paper (25)
    1. Justification and aim of the study: 5 marks
    2. Methodology: 10 marks
    3. Discussion and conclusions: 5 marks
    4. Language and presentation: 5 marks
    Oral presentation (25)
    1. Slides: 5 marks
    2. Quality of presentation: 5 marks
    3. Quality of the content: 10 marks
    4. Answering questions: 5marks.
    Poster marks (25)
    1. Justification and aim of the study: 5 marks
    2. Methodology: 10 marks
    3. Discussion and conclusions: 5 marks
    4. Answering questions: 5 marks
  10. The results will be announced before the end of the conference proceedings on the same day. Prizes will be given to one winner and one runner up for all categories. In the event of a tie there shall be two winners and no runner up.
  11. The decision of the judges shall be final.

RULES FOR C P MITTAL AWARD

  1. Only young researchers (DM / PDCC / MD / DNB / Fellows in Pediatrics / Pediatric Gastroenterology / Pediatric Hepatology) below 40 years can apply
  2. Presenting author must register for the conference. Accommodation will be provided for those selected for stage presentation
  3. Submit a complete manuscript (including abstract, introduction, methods, results, discussion, conclusion, references with tables and/or figures) as per Guidelines to authors of Indian Pediatrics for original article to abstract.ispghan2020@gmail.com on or before 15th July 2020, clearly mentioning the award applied for. The manuscript can also be uploaded on the link provided on the website.
  4. Two judges will independently evaluate the papers. Judges are allowed to seek clarifications from the authors. A maximum of 4 papers will be chosen for presentation and authors informed by 15th Aug 2020.
  5. The presentation will be for 8 minutes, followed by 4 minutes for questions, which are to be answered only by the presenter. There will be two separate judges who alone are allowed to ask questions. The sum of the written (25) and oral presentation ((25) will decide the winner.   7. The first author of the award winning paper will receive INR 10,000/- and a certificate of honor. The decision of the judges shall be final.
